This Labor Day Weekend I’ll be at home, and it’s a good thing too! While it may sound boring it’s actually not. We’re still very active when we spend our Labor Day Weekend at home.

I invite some neighbors and friends over and we make an event out of it! My friends and I enjoy cooking so that’s exactly what we do! We create a menu and each of us will bring an item off the list for the meal. First it’s less expensive and cooking together is always fun!

This year our menu is: Potato Salad with “Hotdogs” and for dessert we’re having Very Berry Cream Cups!

Yesterday was National Dog Day! But don’t think you missed out on the fun! Why not make a weekend out of it? Celebrating your favorite furry friend doesn’t last a day.

Lionsgate came up with some great ways for you to celebrate you dog, after all we are a pet-friendly community! Check out these great things to do with your four legged friend!

• Take your dog out to the park! It’s a great way for fun and exercise!
• Buy your dog a special treat! Either a new toy or a yummy snack!
• Pamper your pup, give them a bath or take them to the pet salon!
• Post pictures of your dog on our Facebook Page! Let’s see how cute they are!
• Don’t have a dog but want one? Adopt or Rescue!

That’s right! This week is currently DC’s Beer Week, a 10 day event just for beer. Here you can learn about the beer culture or just celebrate it. You can enjoy any of these nights with all the events planned.

With more than 40 breweries and 30 restaurants, bars and pubs participating, you’re sure to find a beer you’ll enjoy. You’ll come to really appreciate what the beer culture has to offer.

Please drink responsibly and don’t drink and drive. Simply use the Commuter Rail!

When I was younger my family would always go and visit a farm once a year. It was always an experience, I loved it and still do! I think it might be atmosphere that you’re surrounded in when you’re on a farm. Things are a bit slower (not easier though) and you get the opportunity to take a step back from the media world.

At Frying Pan Farm Park you really have the chance to enjoy the best of a farm.  They have preserved and modeled themselves after the farms in the 1920s. Which makes it even better to experience. The Farm took its name from 1726 to 1892 when Fairfax County was named Frying Pan before it changed to Floris.

Sushi is one of my favorite meals to get when I’m at a Japanese grill restaurant. While some people may eat Sushi as their meal, sometimes I’ll have mine as a starter. Recently I went to Hama Sushi Japanese Restaurant recently and had a great time!

Their food is simply delicious. Hama Sushi allows you to taste their food as it was meant to be tasted. They have a wide variety of options on their menu so you’re sure to be satisfied.

For over ten years, Hama Sushi has remained a long time favorite among local residents and frequent travelers in the Dulles airport area.
